This sorce is mainley used to show what is required to become a Radiologic technician. I will be using this site to list the formal training needed to become a Radiologic Technician. Also what is included in getting your Licensure.

Researchers have long known that phase-contrast X-ray imaging can yield stunning pictures of soft tissue. Currently, however, the technique requires X rays from a synchrotron, a particle accelerator measuring 300 meters or more in diameter. But Franz Pfeiffer of the Paul Scherrer Institute in Villigen, Switzerland and his team reports an advance that it says will enable radiologists to perform phase-contrast imaging using conventional hospital X-ray machines
This cite will be used to show what some of the differant types of machines are used in being a Radiology Technician. I will use only a small portion of this cite, however it will still show a lot of infomaNaila Moreira. "X Ray Excels. " Science News 20 Aug. 2005: Education Module, ProQuest. Web. 7 Apr. 2010. tion.

Imaging procedures and equipment purchases are both on the wane as payers and policy-makers take aim at the overutilization of the high-cost technology. As a result, some imaging organizations are trying to escape the market. Acquisitions are taking place at an especially rapid pace, particularly among smaller and regional firms. Radiologists are also retrenching and looking at ways to demonstrate how their specialty can improve the cost-effectiveness of diagnosing and treating disease. Radiologists may come to function as secondary gatekeeper physicians. To that end, some radiologists are creating practice guidelines and appropriateness criteria, protocols that will aid primary care physicians in ordering imaging studies in the most cost-effective order. Along with other trends reshaping the profession, managed care penetration and capitation will eliminate the last vestiges of radiologists' traditional "lone wolf" status and further compel them to share resources and lower utilization.

I will be useing this cite for the information of the way radiology is heading in the future.

Scientists are developing a new imaging method that could dramatically improve mammography and other medical and materials imaging. The new method uses a single-energy X-ray source
"New x-ray technique may aid mammography. " USA Today 1 Oct. 1998: Research Library Core, ProQuest. Web. 8 Apr. 2010.
This cite will show what a Common Xray can do in saving a human life. In this case a female that has breast cancer. She took a mammography and showed the cancer.
